This cavalier hat is made from a Felt Hat Blank and does not come sized. They are usually available in Black, Navy, Tan and Wine. My supplier does not always have all colors available and from time to time I may run out. The drop down menu will let you know what is in stock. I will order more as they become available but due to supplier issues I have no idea on time frames for restocking out of stock colors.
These hats come unsized but do have a sweat band on the interior around the crown that has a ribbon that may be adjusted to make it fit tighter if you need it to be smaller. I sold these at my most recent fair and had several people from small to larger head sizes buy them that were quite happy with the fit of them. The White hats have the sweat band but do not have the ribbon to tighten them up.
These hats are not as stiff as the other hats I've sold for years which I think contributes to them being more flexible as to fit.
The hat brim measures around 4 1/4 inches depending on where on the hat you measure it. The crown is 4 1/2 inches high. Due to variations in the hat making process these measurements are a close approximation to the hats and are a guideline for sizing. Since these are felt they will stretch a bit when worn.
I secure the hat with a penannular cloak clasp that was hand crafted by my friend Thomas and will also vary slightly from piece to piece. The hat comes with your choice of one large ostrich feather or 2 smaller or other type of feather. If you want a particular color or type of feather please include a note at time of purchase to let me know your choice otherwise I will just choose 2 smaller ones for you. You may also choose between a Nickel or Brass Pin. The hats are pictured with the Nickel pin which is a silver tone color. The Ostrich feathers can come in white, black, purple, yellow, wine, green, orange, blue, and red. Check to see for availability on feather colors as I may not always have all colors in stock. You may also choose between pheasant and striped turkey quill feathers as well as the 12" Peacock Eye feathers if you are taking the two feather option.
The hat comes with pin inserted and folded up on the side. The feathers come loose in the box to keep them from getting broken during shipping. You simply insert the feathers behind the pin in the fold of the hat. I would suggest tacking them down with needle and thread for added security in case of a windy day. These hats are great for Renaissance Fairs and other re-enactment events. They also make a great pirate or pioneer era hat. The hat may be slightly bent from shipping but is easy to bend back into shape once taken out of the box.

Yes, I made the snoods worn by Alyssa Milano on Charmed. The listing in my shop for a Net Beaded Snood Standard length is the same style that I made for the show. A replica of the Burgundy Snood she wore is the first one you'll see on that listing.
Did you make the snoods I saw at the Disney Theme Park in Florida?
Yes, I have made several different snoods over the years for DMGM Creative Costuming with Disney, Florida. They are worn by Cinderella's dancers in the daily parade as well as several others have appeared in different productions for Disney as well as for shows on the Disney cruise ships.
How do I determine what size of snood will work best for me?
The length of a snood depends on the thickness and length of ones own hair. If you have fine or average thickness of hair the standard length will work fine. My hair is average and just past the middle of my back and I wear the 8" length. I like having it up off of my back and level with my shoulders. If you'd like it to hang longer or you have longer and/or thicker hair you should go with a longer snood. I would also caution on the Net pattern that if one has very fine or layered hair you might want to choose another pattern. Since the openings are larger on this snood that type of hair may poke through the openings and look messy. A snood with smaller openings works better for ladies with fine hair.
How long does it take to receive my item?
All snoods and bun covers are made to order so please allow 2-4 weeks for delivery of those items. Hats and Renaissance Garb that I sell are in stock and ship out as soon as order is received and processed, taking no more than 2 business days.
